All About Miss Doss
Ashley Doss
My name is Ashley Doss. I was born in Statesville, NC. I currently live in Mount Airy, NC. I graduated from Lees-McRae College with my K-6 Elementary Education Degree. I have worked in an EC classroom and I have taught Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and this will be my first year teaching 4th grade! I am very excited to embark on this new journey!
In my free time, I enjoy running, cooking, reading, walking my dog Bella, and watching Duke Basketball! I am a very family-oriented person. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have one older brother named Adam. Adam is a Business Education teacher in Winston Salem.
My Teaching Philosophy: I am very passionate about teaching my students! I believe that EVERY child can be successful! I believe that it is critical to establish a positive relationship between the teacher, student, and parent/guardian. We are a TEAM and together we will SUCCEED! I feel that it is extremely important to provide a classroom that will provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking skills and allow students opportunities to work with cooperative learning teams, with a partner, and independent assignments. I believe that this provides students with an opportunity to take responsibility for their own learning. I also find it extremely important to teach my students about leadership and life skills as this prepares them for the future!
